Exit Managua and ask the driver to stop at the Masaya Volcano national park and drive up to the Santiago crater. Here we can walk up to the cross on the top of the volcano, walk around the area or take one of the tours into the volcanic caves. This can all take you about n hour. Continue for a few kilometers and make a quick stop to see the view of the Masaya lagoon. Keep going into the city of Masaya and its artisan market, here you can enjoy a large variety of art, sculptures, hammocks and souvenirs. Lunch optional: El Bucanero or El Filete restaurant.

Depart from Managua and head to Masaya artisan Market, followed by another stop in Catarina, a typical small Nicarguan town, here you can appreciate a beautiful view of the apoyo lagoon.If you want to spend a relaxed day you can go down to the lagoon and swim and in relax in one of the beach front restaurants. For more adventurous travelers you can keep going to the Mombacho Volcano National park, hop on a topless truck and make it to the top watching orchids and cloud forest vegetation. Once at the top you can appreciate the crater, nature walks, fumes and inspiring views. Canopy tours are also available in the area. Lunch optional: Mi Viejo Ranchito Restaurant.

Depart from Managua watching the Masaya lagoon and volcano. Make your first stop in Catarina where you can appreciate the view of the Apoyo lagoon. Next stop is in San Juan de Oriente, famous for its pottery. Drive in front of the Mombacho volcano and make your next stop in Granada's central park. You can walk around the cathedral, into the Convento of San Francisco Museum and drive through the main churches and avenues of this colonial city. You can stop by the cigar rolling center or at the hammock weaving store. Drive down to Lake Nicaragua and take a boat ride in the natural environment of the canals,monkey island, and the old spanish fortress.
